Classroom Resources

Classroom Resources

The Dog, Duck and Cat Trust (DDCT) - helping schools to make the best of the PSHE/RSHE lessons.

DDCT provide interactive and engaging educational resources for children aged 11 and under. We provide schools with all that they need to deliver high-quality and effective PSHE-based learning across a range of statutory topics.

For children in Year 4 and below, we use a topic based story approach, featuring three main characters, Dog, Duck and Cat. This allows key messages to be delivered in a fun and engaging way, whilst allowing children to explore sensitive topics in an age-appropriate manner.

For children in Years 5 & 6, we have our 'Ant and Us' programme. Ant asks the children a question, via an animation, to kick start the learning for each topic area. This approach allows for a more pupil-led approach to learning, whilst also allowing pupils to understand key messages.

Comprehensive lesson plans and resources accompany both the Dog, Duck and Cat and Ant and Us sessions.

All resources have been created by an experienced, qualified and passionate team, but more importantly everything has been extensively piloted with schools and their pupils. This ensures that the DDCT resources are fit for purpose and meet the outcomes they are designed to, supporting children's personal development, safety and wellbeing.

Introducing the DDC Trust Resources

The Dog, Duck and Cat (DDC) Trust have worked with schools for over 15 years and have a vast range of age-appropriate resources for teachers and other professionals to use with children and young people. These cover themes across Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE/RSHE) education, and wider safeguarding topics, with an emphasis on the promotion of practical skill development, diversity, inclusion and equality, and positive emotional wellbeing.

All of our learning resources are mapped to the current DfE RSHE statutory guidance requirements for primary schools within Relationships & Health Education (RHE). Each individual lesson plan also clearly states which of the individual statutory RHE curriculum requirements are covered.

We have also mapped each lesson against the PSHE/RSHE Association's Programme of Study for KS1 & KS2, to promote wider best practice and coverage of topics that sit outside of statutory RHE.

All of our resources contain everything you need for that lesson, so no lengthy searching for additional PDF's, video's, worksheets and activities - everything is provided for you!

Accessing The DDCT Resources

Some of our materials are free to access! Click here to see the current selection of materials that are freely available to all primary schools.

As a charity, The Dog, Duck and Cat Trust try to make access to our resources as affordable as possible to schools and teachers. For any individual school or setting that would like to access to all of the Trust’s resources it's very simple:

  • We ask for a minimum annual donation of £149 from individual schools, which we then use to fund the development of new resources and cover our running costs (you can donate more if you’d like!).
  • This donation gives individual schools access to our full programme and resources for 12 months; this also includes any new resources developed in that time as well - click here to register your interest

If you have any further questions, if you are struggling to fund a donation, or would like to get involved in supporting the Trust in some way, please email us at: info@dogduckandcat.co.uk

We look forward to working with you.
