The Dog, Duck and Cat Trust (DDCT) - helping schools to make the best of the PSHE/RSHE lessons.
DDCT provide interactive and engaging educational resources for children aged 11 and under. We provide schools with all that they need to deliver high-quality and effective PSHE-based learning across a range of statutory topics.
For children in Year 4 and below, we use a topic based story approach, featuring three main characters, Dog, Duck and Cat. This allows key messages to be delivered in a fun and engaging way, whilst allowing children to explore sensitive topics in an age-appropriate manner.
For children in Years 5 & 6, we have our 'Ant and Us' programme. Ant asks the children a question, via an animation, to kick start the learning for each topic area. This approach allows for a more pupil-led approach to learning, whilst also allowing pupils to understand key messages.
Comprehensive lesson plans and resources accompany both the Dog, Duck and Cat and Ant and Us sessions.
All resources have been created by an experienced, qualified and passionate team, but more importantly everything has been extensively piloted with schools and their pupils. This ensures that the DDCT resources are fit for purpose and meet the outcomes they are designed to, supporting children's personal development, safety and wellbeing.
