In order to support subject organisation, planning and delivery, in this section you will find suggested delivery models for the DDC resources which can be used by subject leads and class teachers to fit our lessons into a PSHE whole school programme. This does not mean that you need to stick rigidly to these suggestions! DDC resources are designed to be flexible and used in a way that best meets the needs of your pupils, so we are always supportive of schools using them in different ways.
All of our resources have been carefully created in an age-appropriate and engaging way, so within each lesson plan, you will find a suggested age that the materials are suitable for, but we would always encourage you to make your own judgement call and deliver these in other year groups if you feel it appropriate.
Please note, the DDC programme of learning is not designed to not cover a full year of PSHE timetabled lesson time for every year group. Whilst new resources are often created and added to our bank of materials, we strongly believe that it is important for schools to have the space and time within their PSHE curriculum to be able to focus on local topics and themes that matter the most to them and their school community in order to create a bespoke PSHE programme. With this in mind, our suggested delivery purposely organises the DDC lessons into a format which will allow schools flexibility to include their own selection of additional lessons across an academic year for every year group, particularly in the summer term.
