10 11 wellbeing? Thank You Dad, I love you You did really well today Cat Duck was surprised to hear that Cat and Dog both sometimes felt ‘not right’. They always seemed so happy and calm to him! Duck told Cat and Dog that he often has days where he does not feel right, he just thought it was him that felt this way. He had never mentioned how he felt, not even to his best friends, because he thought they might think he was silly and he didn’t know that talking about stuff with people was so helpful! ‘Talking helps as well’ said Cat. ‘Me and my Dad talk a lot about feelings and how they can affect me’. ‘Talking really helps and it is always good to get some advice from a grown-up who I know loves and cares for me. Talking to my Dad has really helped, it has made a big difference for both of us,’ said Cat. ‘I think you were off sick from school Duck when we had an animal, Mr Fox, come in to talk to us all about breathing and relaxing and how we could look after our emotional wellbeing.’ What’s emotional wellbeing? Thank You D d, I love you You did really well today Cat What’s emotional wellbeing? ‘What’s emotional wellbeing’ said Duck. ‘That’s a good question, Duck!’ said Cat. ‘Mr. Fox said it can be tricky to understand but that basically, emotional wellbeing is about feeling happy, healthy, safe and in control of what is going on inside our own heads. He said that if you don’t feel safe or in control, it can make you feel nervous, scared, panicky and that it can be difficult to cope with everyday things’ Cat said. ‘I get like that sometimes’ said Dog. ‘Sometimes I know why I feel that way, sometimes it just seems to happen. But that breathing thing really helps’ he said.
