How can I make a friend story
12 13 togetherness everything Duck was excited to give his word - it was togetherness . It could also be described as ‘being there for you.’ Duck then said what he meant. ‘I honestly think a friend is someone who is there for you, if things are good or bad. They can have a laugh with you, but also cheer you up if you are miserable. You do the same back for them, too. I think that is so important and Dog and Cat prove every day that they are there for me, and that’s why they are my best friends.’ ‘Well said Duck, a brilliant example,’ commented Mr Squirrel. Then came the turn of Chicken, who was the newest animal in the school. ‘I don’t have a word, but can I say why, please?’ asked Chicken. ‘Please do,’ said Mr Squirrel. ‘I think you need all the things mentioned so far. I couldn’t think of just one word to describe what a friend is to me,’ said Chicken. ‘The friends I have made at this school have all had everything the other animals have said so far. So I don’t think one word is enough. I think you need all four words to describe a friendship.’ Mr Squirrel stood at the front of the class with a huge smile on his face, ‘I think you are spot on Chicken,’ he said.
