14 15 Dog’s Dad then arrived to pick his son up. Dog then told Dad what had happened. Dad was incredibly angry to begin with. How dare they speak to his son that way and spread those lies! He could see Dog was upset and asked him what was wrong. ‘Nothing’ said Dog as he did not want to worry Dad. ‘Now, young pup, I can see you are upset. Talk to your Dad and I’ll try and help’. Everything the Weasel family had said was untrue . They were stereotyping and being prejudiced. Prejudice means judging someone against an idea , often a nasty idea, of what you THINK they might be like, not the way that person ACTUALLY acts and behaves. Weasel’s family had made some totally untrue statements about Dog and his family. But, Dad knew that being angry would not help with this problem. He needed to stay calm and be the bigger animal. So, he spoke to his son and advised him.
