10 Dog was confused. He did not bite people, he was kind to others and certainly did not smell - he’d had a shower that morning! Why were Weasel’s parents saying these nasty things? Dog could feel himself starting to get upset, but he did not want to show it. He did not want them to think they had caused him to be sad. 11 • Dogs eat strange foods, so they smell funny • Dogs have large families and they do not go to work – this means Weasel’s family must ‘pay’ for Dog and his family • Dogs have strange beliefs and want to stop Weasels wearing certain clothes and doing things they enjoy • Dogs want to change the way that Weasel’s family live their life • Dogs do not like “anyone” and even if they seem ok, they will secretly hate “us” because we are different to them • You cannot be friends with Dogs as they do not like the same things that “we” do. They will only mix with their own kind, other Dogs, so it is best that Weasel only mixes with other Weasels • When people are nasty to Dogs, or anyone else, it is their own fault due to how they behave, and live, and that they deserve everything they get. Essentially, it is ok to be nasty to people that are different from you because they deserve it! • Dogs want to replace “us” (the Us and Them attitude) and only have Dogs living around here!
