Weasel's Friends

threatened online feared bullied 10 11 Now I could tell you about all the thoughts Cat had, and the things she learnt when she worked with Grass Snake and Toad, but that would take ages! So, this is the short version for you... • Cat discovered that both Grass Snake and Toad were ‘ok’, in fact, they were good fun and actually nice animals, when Weasel was not with them • She learnt that the reason why they were mean to other animals was because they feared (were scared of) Weasel. He tells them what to do and they both feel that he uses them and makes them do things they don’t want to do • Grass Snake and Toad told Cat they were picked on by Weasel just as much as he picked on everyone else • They felt they were bullied by him every day! • Sometimes Weasel hits them and blames THEM for it. He says if they had done as he had asked, he would not have hit them, so it is THEIR fault • If he wasn’t being nasty to them face to face, he often sent them horrible messages online • They told Cat that he threatened them and said that if they did not do as he told them, he would not let them play with him anymore, and they will be alone and have no one to play with • This makes Grass Snake and Toad very sad and they do not really know what to do about it • They both worry about being alone, so they put up with Weasels behaviour and do what he tells them to do • They sometimes feel bad for being mean to other animals but what else can they do - Weasel makes them! This all seemed strang and very sad to Cat. She, Dog and Duck were the best of friends and they certainly did not treat each other that way. Cat knew that being a good friend to someone means treating them with respect, care and tolerance, and not making them do things they don’t want to do,or making them sad. Being a good friend is about doing nice things for each other and being supportive. It is not about hitting, or bullying, or using someone, which is called exploiting them.
