Staying Safe on holiday with Dog, Duck and Cat

Safety Checklist - Really important, maybe even lifesaving, information

  • The sun can burn a child very easily. Always ensure you cover them in a high factor protection that you reapply as often as it says it is needed.
  • The sun, if stayed out in for too long, can cause sun/heat stroke. Make sure children don't stay out for too long and they are properly protected against the sun.
  • Sun cream/protection has an expiry date; please don’t forget to check the bottle before using it!
  • Water can be DEADLY - even if it is shallow!
  • Children should always be supervised near water or very bad things can happen. Always remind your child(ren) that they should stay away from water unless they are with an adult they are told they can trust.
  • Make sure that everyone in your home works together to think safely, make sure they all know about the messages in this story. Make sure older children are aware of sun and water safety, to protect themselves and to look out for younger children they may play with or help you to keep an eye on.

And please make sure your child(ren) knows and understands this one very important thing…

  • Remember to tell your child(ren) that if they are ever worried or have done something that might be dangerous then they should tell you straight away - it could save their life.
  • You might get cross with them later on but you would help them straight away if something bad had happened.
  • 'I love you and want to keep you safe' is the message you want them to remember!
