Introducing our newest story, What’s up Duck?

Tuesday 27th October 2020

We are very proud to be able to launch today our newest story, What’s up Duck?

In this story, Duck is struggling a little bit with how he is feeling whilst at school, but his friends Cat and Dog show him kindness and try to help him so he can feel calmer, happier, and more relaxed. They actually teach Duck a really useful relaxation technique which he practices and, as a result, begins to feel more like himself again.

Whilst we don’t explicitly say Duck is struggling due to being away from school for so long, or due to the worldwide pandemic, the reason for releasing the story now is to help with those exact issues.

This book shows us that we all have emotions and feelings and can be affected by them in good and not so good ways and, that this is completely normal. We also learn that we should try to help our friends if they are struggling with their emotions and feelings, whatever is happening in the wider world.

I think we’ve all had times where we struggle and it’s important to know how we can help ourselves, but that we can also get help from others too. When a child’s usual world seems a bit different it’s important for them to know that they can help their friends and those they care about, but that as they are young they also need help from trusted adults.

Everyone deserves to feel happy, healthy, and content. ‘What’s Up Duck’ is a book about how this can be achieved with the right support, understanding and care.
